Current Issue
Art and Theory (AT, E-ISSN: 3120-3787) is an open-access academic journal dedicated to fostering in-depth dialogue and interdisciplinary integration between artistic practice and theoretical critique. As an international platform for scholarly exchange, AT promotes rigorous academic discourse among artists, theorists, curators, and cultural scholars, working collectively to expand the boundaries of contemporary art and aesthetic theory. The journal is published online semi-annually by Cultech Publishing Sdn. Bhd.
Guided by the principle of “connecting creation and interpretation through critical thinking, and integrating art and theory within an interdisciplinary framework,” the journal welcomes original contributions including research articles, critical essays, visual research, review articles, and interdisciplinary practice reports. Open Access: This journal operates under a "gold" Open Access model, providing free access to all readers. The Article Processing Charges (APC) for all article types (research, review, case reports) is $50, and the content will be published under a CC BY 4.0 license. To encourage submissions and support the research community, AT currently levies no APC (0 APC). For specific APC policies, please refer to the Open Access Policies.
